electric kits

The geared hub motor kit from eZee bike is one of the nicer complete ebike conversion packages available. It is light weight, well engineered, torquy, and fully compatible with North American bicycle standards.
When we first got in touch with eZee in late 2007 it was apparent that this company stood apart from all the others we have dealt with in their understanding of western expectations for quality and product support. Since then, we have worked with eZee to tailor a version of this kit to match our own product line, including the Cycle Analyst port on the motor controller, universal battery voltage compatibility, interchangeable throttle standards, a rear wheel option, and a high RPM 20" version. With the choice of either front or rear hubs and full disc brake compatibility, there is an eZee kit suitable for just about every model and style of bicycle or tricycle out there.

The hub motors from Nine Continent are among the best we have sampled of the latest generation of direct drive brushless motors coming out of China. This style of motor has a larger diameter and is narrower than the Crystalyte 400 series, and has nearly 3 times the number of magnetic poles. The method of construction is noticeably more material efficient, resulting in a motor that has a higher torque output and a better peak efficiency than a 400 series, yet weighs almost 20% less.
Coupled with a Crystalyte pedal-first controller, this makes for a powerful direct drive motor kit that is both affordable and dependable to boot. The high pole count (46 magnets) means that the sensorless controller is able to engage at very low speed (about 3 km/h in a 26" wheel), and there is no worry about problems with hall sensors or hall connectors.
Currently, the motor kit is available as a front or rear hub with two winding types, a fast 2806 version for 20" wheels, and a slightly slower 2807 turn model for 26" and 700c hubs. At 36V, both setups will have no problem maintaining the legal limit of 32 kph while going up moderate hills, and can go faster than this on the flats.
The Stokemonkey kit was designed with one specific purpose: to bring mid-drive electric assist to Xtracycle-converted bicycles. In contrast to hub motor conversions, the Stokemonkey kit allows fully-loaded cargo bikes to go up the steepest hills without the motor stalling out. This system is a bit different from other mid-drive conversions (such as EcoSpeed, eLation, and Cyclone-USA) in that it uses a low-rpm hub motor turning the left side of a tandem crankset from the rear triangle, rather than a smaller high-speed motor directly driving the chain. Although this makes the Stokemonkey heavier than other systems, it also enables it to be completely silent, and allows power transfer to the rear wheel through both the front 3-speed chain ring and the 7-9 speed cluster at the back. This gives the bike its widest possible gear range.
For more complete details on the Stokemonkey system, please see the official product website at Clevercycles.
The BionX system can be installed on most bicycles by replacing the rear wheel with the BionX motor-wheel. The BionX system can be retrofitted on all bicycle models: road, mountain, tandem, folding, recumbent and recumbent trikes counting up to 27 speeds.
- Wheel sizes available: 700c, 26", 24", 20", 18"
- Standad drop-out: 135mm
- Installation with threaded free wheel
- Disk brake compatible
- Black rims and black spokes available upon request
- If the battery does not fit on the frame, it can be installed on a carrier.

Model P-250
First of it's kind, our well-knowned model commercialized since 2003. It as conquered the heart of over 3000 cyclists. With it's proportionnal assistance technology, a maintenance-free 3.5kg motor, coupled with a NiMH battery pack of only 4.1kg, this model will charm all kinf of cyclist.
Model PL-250
BionX launched a new more efficient battery: the Lithium-Mn . Weighing only 2.8 kg, this new battery will provide 16% longer autonomy. In addition to possessing all the P-250 advantages, this model will appeal to cyclists who are looking for longer rides and for whom weight is crucial. An outstanding technological step intended for those who really love to ride.
Model PL-250 Light Model PL-350
BionX launched a new more efficient battery: the Lithium-Mn . Weighing only 2 kg, this new battery will provide 10% longer autonomy. In addition to possessing all the PL-250 advantages, this model will appeal to cyclists who are looking for longer rides and for whom weight is crucial. An outstanding technological step intended for those who really love to ride.
Still more powerful, and lighter than ever. With its brushless and maintenance free 350W motor weighing only 4.15 kg and its new hi-tech 3.1 kg 36V Lithium -Mn battery, BionX was able to create the ideal system. At approximately the same weight as the P-250, this model offers a much more powerful motor along with a Lithium Ion 36V battery containing near twice the amount of energy contained in the 24V NiMH battery. This system will please long distance riders as much as less experienced cyclists looking for a light system.

Hi Monkey Wrench, I'm curious by some of the products you carry. I hear the BionX regenerates. Whilst that sounds great, I was also told that means tht bike can't free wheel and this would be a drag to pedal without the motor. Is that true?
I also like the very light and long range Sony batteries. What would it cost all up to ship a BionX 350 to Sydney Australia? Air freight of course
You also make the Nine Continents sound very good. Which is better for my hill area and 20 km commutes which is my situation. At the moment I'm on a 200 watt rear hub motor, very good quality, but it struggles. Thanks, Mike rubbo. rubbo@aapt.net.au
I'll email you.
